Quarter 1
Fall
September – November
Plan your year
Lessons run on a published, predictable yearly calendar — 44 weeks of instruction a year, split into four quarters — so families always know what's ahead before a new quarter begins.
The quarter system
Quarter 1
September – November
Quarter 2
December – February
Quarter 3
March – May
Quarter 4
June – August
Each quarter is 13 weeks long. Two of those weeks are scheduled “off-weeks” — whole weeks with no lessons, set aside for holidays, rest, and planning — leaving 11 lesson weeks per quarter. Across a full year, that's 44 weeks of instruction (11 lesson weeks × 4 quarters).
Published in advance
Every quarter's exact dates and off-weeks are set and published ahead of time, so families can plan travel, school breaks, and other commitments with confidence — there are no surprise schedule changes mid-quarter.
When a lesson is missed
Mr. Denny maintains a very fair and flexible make-up policy designed to provide students with a consistent opportunity to make up missed lessons while allowing him to maintain a full weekly teaching schedule.
Because the studio maintains a full weekly schedule, Mr. Denny is generally unable to accommodate individual requests to reschedule missed lessons. Instead, he offers a weekly online, small-group make-up option so that students can use their make-up credits in a structured and convenient format. If Mr. Denny is unable to teach a scheduled lesson due to illness or another unforeseen circumstance — which is exceedingly rare — he will work with the student individually to arrange an appropriate make-up lesson or issue a refund. Such arrangements are handled as an exception to the policy below.
Weekly make-up option
Make-up lessons are offered in an online, small-group format each Friday at 5:00 p.m., excluding designated studio off-weeks.
A student may accumulate up to four (4) make-up credits at any given time. To ensure fairness and availability for all students, no more than one (1) make-up credit may be used per calendar month.
For example, if a student has two (2) make-up credits, one may be used during the current month and the second during the following month. Both credits may not be used within the same month.
Unenrollment
If the family plans to discontinue weekly lessons, all outstanding make-up credits must be used prior to unenrollment. Any unused make-up credits will be forfeited upon unenrollment and will not be eligible for rescheduling, transfer, or refund.
